Marine Biologist for a Day
As part of National Sceince and Engineering Week 2011 the Marine Biological Association ran ‘Marine Biologist for a Day’ workshops for 120 primary and secondary school children. The activities included a tour of the seawater hall, an introduction to plankton and fish identification, our very own ‘CSI Plymouth’ and Alien Invaders! Participants were invited to enter a report-writing competition on their experience of being a ‘Marine Biologist for a Day’ and the winning and runner-up entries can be viewed below. The winning and runner-up entries won a selection of books as prizes, which were kindly funded by the Society of Biology (www.societyofbiology.org).
