Submit Casual Sighting

This page allows you to submit a sighting to the Sealife Survey without logging in to the site. Your sighting will still be used in the national marine sightings scheme but you won't be able to keep track of the sightings you've submitted or keep a record of any images you've uploaded. You will also need to fill in your name and e-mail address manually. If you submit sightings regularly, or would like to start doing so, it's a good idea to use the "Register" link at the top of the page to create an account.

We need to know some details about you in case we need to contact you for more information. Don't worry, we won't sell your contact details to anyone or pass them on outside of the recording scheme.

Please use the autocomplete box below to enter species names and tell us about the species that you saw. Tip: you can add an asterisk (*) to the start of the search string to find any species containing the given text (e.g. *octopus will return "Common Octopus" etc).
