Emily is the Library Assistant in the National Marine Biological Library. After studying Marine Geography at Cardiff University and gaining a Masters in Biodiversity and Conservation, she worked for various environmental and educational charities around the UK including Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Newquay Zoo and the Eden Project.
Emily has been working at the MBA since April 2014 when she began managing the Blue Sound Project alongside Guy Baker (part of LEMUR traineeship). An opportunity in NMBL then allowed her to put her engagement skills and marine knowledge to new uses. Whilst overseeing the smooth daily running of the library and supporting the work of Citadel Hill scientists she is particularly keen on identifying new ways to encourage use of the library and its unique collections such as by using modern media channels to reach wider audiences.
